Mission: The mission of Sustainable-Visions, LLC is to promote and facilitate purpose-driven community research and development.

Vision: Sustainable-Visions, LLC is committed to measurably improving the education and health outcomes of underrepresented youth, families and communities.

Purpose and Activities: Sustainable-Visions was established to promote and facilitate purpose-driven community research and development that significantly improves the education and health of underrepresented communities. This effort entails activities such as program/project evaluation, community engagement, youth development, health education and disease prevention, academic & career coaching and group mentoring. Our current focus is developing, facilitating and evaluating evidence-based programs for underrepresented populations in the Washington D.C. – Baltimore Metropolitan Area and the Lower Eastern Shore counties of Maryland. We are happy to evaluate or help facilitate similar activities or programs in other locations. It is always our business to support the research and development of sustainable programs that can empower youth and young adults to improve their education and health.

Program Areas:

  1. Educational Research & Program Development: Focused on improving the education (basic knowledge, literacy rates and workforce skills) of youth and families in underrepresented communities. Specific areas include school attendance, behavior, academic progress, parent/caregiver involvement, student retention and graduation, career exploration and vocational assessment, academic tutoring, re-entry of suspended or drop-out students, college or trade school readiness, career guidance, progress monitoring after college or professional trade school admission, as well as post-college career guidance and employment placement.

  2. Health Research: Focused on promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention of youth and families in underrepresented communities. Specific areas include community health initiatives that inform and empower youth and families with knowledge on and access to healthy foods, nutrition, disease prevention, physical exercise as well as environmental awareness & justice.

  3. Strategic Partnerships: Focused on partnering with others to initiate and achieve common goals that significantly reflect positive change in education and health outcomes in underrepresented communities. Areas of focus will include implementing and disseminating data-driven, field-based research in education and health that can be sustained by underrepresented communities to create a basis for self-sufficiency.

Geographic focus: Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland (Wicomico, Somerset, Dorchester and Worcester Counties), Washington, DC – Baltimore Metropolitan Areas (Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince Georges, Montgomery and Anne Arundel Counties), selected rural and suburban cities, and targeted urban neighborhoods.
